Fuel Up for Good by Participating in the Giving Pump

This fall, Johnny’s Markets will be participating in the Shell Giving Pump program, giving our customers the chance to give back to our local communities by choosing to fuel up at one of our locations. From September 1 to October 31, 2024, all 66 Johnny’s Markets Shell stations across Michigan and Indiana will be bringing back the purple pumps and inviting you to fuel up with purpose.

What is the Giving Pump?

The Shell Giving Pump program is a simple yet powerful way to support local charities and schools while filling up your tank. When you use one of our designated purple Giving Pumps, we will donate to a selection of local organizations and schools. There’s no extra cost to you—just fill up as usual and positively impact your community.

Who Will Benefit?

This year, contributions will support the following local organizations:

• South Michigan Food Bank: Donations will support their Backpack Program, providing non-perishable meal packages to students in low-income households. Each package ensures kids have enough food for the weekend and school breaks.
• Kids Food Basket: This organization serves nutritious meals to children in four West Michigan counties every weekday. Their two farms also provide fresh produce for the community and serve as educational resources for STEM learning.

• Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan: The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses, providing them with hope and joy during challenging times.

• Local Schools: We’re also donating funds to several schools to support their programs and initiatives. Here are the schools we are supporting:

Last Year’s Success

In 2023, thanks to your generous support, Johnny’s Markets raised an impressive $51,309 through our Giving Pumps. That’s over 5 million pennies collected for local charities! We’re thrilled to build on that success this year and with the continued support of our customers, we believe we can earn even more this fall!

Join Us in Making a Difference

With nearly 7,500 Shell stations participating nationwide, this initiative is set to support 552 local charities. Since its inception in 2021, the Shell Giving Pump has contributed to over 700 charitable organizations across the U.S.
