We’re Sponsoring Summer Fun in Your Neighborhood

At Johnny’s, one of our core values is “Be Neighborly.” And one of our favorite ways do that is to sponsor the annual events that bring people to our communities every year. We’re huge fans of small-town fairs and festivals with their quirky themes and competitions, and we also love supporting bigger events that got their start right here in Michigan.

Hop in your car and take a road trip with us around the best event happening this June, all funded in part by your friends at Johnny’s Markets.

June 6-8: Gizzard Fest
For our first stop, pull up to Potterville for the 2024 Gizzard Fest. As you might expect, this festival features all things chicken, from the parade to a chicken-themed 5K and gizzard-eating contest. You’ll also find live music, a talent show, a classic car show, and fireworks—in short, plenty of ways to pack your weekend with fun.

June 13-15: Three Rivers Water Festival
Next, we’ll head to the Three Rivers Water Festival. This annual event has something for foodies (a pancake breakfast and an ox roast), the family (a soap box derby, kids’ activities, and carnival rides), and well, almost everybody (live music, a classic car/truck/motorcycle show, and fireworks). And just in time for the Olympics, this year’s theme is, TR Goes for the Gold.

June 19-23: Lake Odessa Fair
We’ll head north from Three Rivers to Lake Odessa for a week full of traditional country fair fun! The Lake Odessa Fair brings everyone to the grandstands for draft horse and tractor pulls, motocross races, and a demolition derby. You can also compete in volleyball and pickleball tournaments, take in some live music, or just wander through the agricultural exhibits while munching on an elephant ear.

June 22-23: Gus Macker/Jackson
Finally, sports fans will be flocking to Jackson for the annual 2024 Gus Macker tournament! This 3-on-3 basketball began right here in Michigan, but today, it brings people of all ages and backgrounds together all over the country. Come cheer on your favorite teams in downtown Jackson, and if you can’t catch the games this weekend, follow the Macker to Flint, Belding, Midland, Otsego, and Grand Rapids later this summer.

Johnny’s proud to keep these traditions alive all across Michigan. We’ll see you out there this summer!
