Did you know that every month, 15,000 families in South Michigan visit a food bank to put food on their tables? That’s why it’s so important to support the organizations like South Michigan Food Bank that collect and distribute food to prevent people in our community from going hungry.

At Johnny’s, one of our corporate values is “Be good,” and helping others feed their families is a powerful way to do that. Recently, a small group of volunteers from Johnny’s Markets corporate HQ volunteered at South Michigan Food Bank in Battle Creek, Michigan, part of the Feeding America network.

Together, our team packed over 500 boxes of food for local families in need, filling them with fresh, nutritious produce like apples, peppers, eggplant, and acorn squash — much of it harvested right here in Michigan — along with protein-rich lentils.

Our team had a great time at the event. It’s a concrete way to do something for your community, and they’re always looking for help. South Michigan Food Bank made it easy to jump right in and start helping.
